Mw2 game disc error!?

everytime i try to play multiplayer 2 mins into the game it brings up unreadable disc and crap so i cleaned my disc i tryed support nothing has worked but im thinking its the update i downloaded but if i dont download it i get signed out of xbox live so im stuck what do i do i really want to play it :(
