Minecraft beta multiplayer survivel server help?

i am almost done i set up the server sucsessfully but my other problem now is i need to know how i can let other people join, im playing on offline mode because if i dont it wont work, and i would like to play with my brother i used hamachi to get my server set up how do i play with my brother when offline mode is on please help some one Thanks!!!
