Are you concerned about the Dvla and its ever increasing powers?
Just watched the latest advert from them as ever full of threats and scare tacticts , a few years ago i i experienced another example of their rather intrusive powers , i had just moved to a new address nobody knew of this other than me , imagine my surprise when having only lived there fo 3 months i get a letter from the dvla reminding me my licence was due for an update because the photo was now more than ten years old . I rang them curious as to how they had traced me to my new address . I hadnt changed my address on my icence as i was still living between the two addresses , i was surprised to learn that they use experian to trace people . WTF yes they use experian by asking them your last known credit transactions and to what address they are registered to . Personally i find this a bit intrusive and a touch on the scary side . Now it would seem they are liasing with private insurance companies to figure out wether your car is unsured and if its not you get a fine ............regardless of wether its one the road or not ........what happens if you have a small lapse between policy renewal ? Why are government depts like the dvla becoming so intrusive is this worng ? Do you care about it ? Is it right that they use your credit history to trace you ? Also who is too say that woth regards to experian it isnt a 2 way street in other words they use the DVLA to trace you too , privacy >>? what privacy ?
