How does this thing work?

I bought Perfect Dark from xbl marketplace for my 360, and it sucks! I can do everything but i cant get the datalink to connect to the computer terminals so im screwed , and i cant go pats mission 1. So all i have is multiplayer vwhich is good but it is still to buy a game where u cant play the story mode. Any tips?
